The Stormtrooper is the new soldier unit of the 501st Legion. Evolving from the battle hardened Clone Troopers of the Galactic Republic, the Stormtrooper is armed with the powerful but inaccurate E-11 Blaster Rifle to destroy the enemies of the Empire. For the campaigns on Hoth and on Rhen Var, the Stormtroopers of the 501st are equipped with Snowtrooper Armor. The fearsome Stormtrooper makes up the majority of the Imperial army and usually takes the brunt of the fighting. The Stormtrooper is the equivalent to the Super Battle Droid, Rebel Soldier and Clone Trooper.

Trivia

• The BCCK Thermal Detonator in the game uses the same skin as the normal Thermal Detonators.
• The SE-14R in the game uses the same skin as the ST-1 Pistol.
• Stormtrooper armor is made out of Plastoid. It is impervious to all damage given to it, including small arms fire, but its weakness is its bodyglove, where there is little or no protection. The armor was made to be last indefinitely, and on some planets 50 years after the Galactic Civil War, there are remnants of Stormtrooper armor that haven't decayed or decomposed. However, a single shot from the DL-44 can penetrate it, as well with Rebel gunfire.
• On Hoth in Star Wars Battlefront 2, the Stormtrooper is known as the Snowtrooper. However, in the original Star Wars Battlefront, it is only known as the Stormtrooper.
• The kama for the snow variants is not flexible in Star Wars Battlefront. It is, however, in Star Wars Battlefront 2.
• Stormtroopers are not the only infantry of the Galactic Empire's Army. In fact, they are a corp of the Imperial Army that answer only to Emperor Palpatine. They can disobey direct orders from Imperial Generals if it conflicts with what the Emperor orders them to do. They are trained to be emotionless killers, and unlike Imperial Army troopers they actually will not surrender unless they are horribly outnumbered.
• Stormtroopers can survive in the vacuum of space for 20 minutes due to a small oxygen reserve tank built into their helmets.
