The Scarab-class Droid Fighter, was originally going to be in Star Wars: Battlefront II, but was replaced by the Droid Tri-Fighter, due to the release of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. However, the Scarab-class droid starfighter is a better choice for the Droid Tri-Fighter due to its greater speed, better maneuverability, and that it contains more a heavier arsenal of four repeating blasters and a large clip of homing missiles.
History[]
Scarab starfighters were tested by the Trade Federation in the Naboo system and the Karthakk system prior to the Invasion of Naboo. Though effective, the Scarabs proved no match for the combined forces of Rhys Dallows, Vana Sage and Nym's pirates, who helped slow the Federation's march on Naboo and Lok. Though supplanted by the Vulture-class, Scarab-class starfighters were still in use at least ten years later, prior to the outbreak of the Clone Wars.
