The Cycler Rifle is a Star Card featured in Star Wars Battlefront, it is classified as an Asset Card. It is one of the two sniper rifle Star Cards, the other being the Pulse Cannon.
Overview
The Cycler Rifle is unlocked at rank 28.
The Cycler Rifle functions as a long range sniper rifle similar to the Pulse Cannon, the comparison between the two is usually in-favor of the Pulse Cannon. Since the Pulse Cannon can one shot kill at full charge and a headshot regardless of the amount of charge and since it's unlocked a lot earlier then the Cycler Rifle, but the Cycler Rifle has a faster cooldown than the Pulse Cannon. The Pulse Cannon also has less time to travel and less bullet drop compared to the Cycler.
As stated above, the Cycler Rifle only kill with one shot if either the target is wounded or a headshot.
However the Cycler Rifle has three major advantages, the first is that it can be fired immediately without the need to charge up, thus this can be crucial in certain cases. The second is that it can penetrate through shields, which can only be done by two other weapons, the Scatter Gun and the Stinger Pistol. The third is that it does not lose accuracy while moving, as the pulse cannon does.
Tips
The cycler rifle, while fairly accurate, is not that great of a long range weapon. At medium range it is great, because unlike the pulse cannon, it not only can penetrate shields but also doesn't lose accuracy while moving. It also is a good replacement for the scout pistol, because of its one hit kill at close range. It is great to take advantage of its shield-penetrating quality because players within shields usually don't think they are in danger. It's a great all around weapon. It is, however, easy to miss if not aimed down carefully, or is fired off the sights. The Cycler Rifle deals 90 Damage on an infantry from far distances.
Patches
The Cycler Rifle was made considerably weaker after the beta of the game, as some players were complaining about the strength of the star card. However, other players have expressed disappointment with this change. The Cycler Rifle now does 100 damage if the target is within 10 meters, making it possible to "shotgun" enemies with the Cycler Rifle, while at the same time making it possible for a powerful headshot, which must be done carefully.
