The Bowcaster is a Star Card featured in Star Wars Battlefront and weapon in Star Wars Battlefront II. It's known for being used by the Wookies, especially Chewbacca.
Star Wars Battlefront[]
Overview[]
Depending on the charge-up time, the Bowcaster fires 1, 3, or 5 explosive bolts.
How To Use[]
Hold down the fire button to charge it up. Full charge will fire 5 explosive bolts in a diamond shape. The HUD shows the number of bolts that can be fired at any time.
White dots signify that the bolts might miss their target while the red dots mean that an enemy has been targeted.
If charging up, you can switch weapons to sheathe the Bowcaster, preventing it's use, and consequently, it's cooldown time (the same happens with the Pulse Cannon).
Beware, if fired in close proximity, you can commit suicide.
Patches[]
Prior to the Bespin DLC, the Bowcaster fired across through the players line of sight. Chewbacca's bowcaster still does this, however.
Now the Bowcaster requires less charge-up time, shooting in a more circular blast. It has become more of a shotgun type.
Star Wars Battlefront II[]
The Bowcaster returns from the first game, but is no longer a star card. It is wielded exclusively by the Wookiee Warrior and Chewbacca, with each having different firing modes.
